Celonis and Indian Institute of Information Technology Partner on Process Mining and AI Research Center

Celonis, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIITA), has launched the Celonis–IIITA Research Centre, its first academic research lab in India. The facility, located on IIITA’s campus, will serve as a hub for applied research and talent development in process mining and artificial intelligence.

The educational effort will concentrate on areas including object-centric process mining, AI-driven business optimization, and real-world commercial applications. In addition, it will provide students with practical experience through workshops, capstone projects, and exposure to enterprise challenges.

“This partnership with IIITA marks a new milestone in our India journey and reflects a joint commitment to advance India’s leadership in digital transformation,” said Tarun Shiva, Vice President of Celonis’s India CoE and APAC Services. “By combining Celonis’ technology with IIITA’s academic capabilities, we are creating an environment where students and researchers can work directly on industry challenges, where enterprises benefit from applied research. Students will emerge with skills that are globally relevant, and our teams can help amplify new research that is driving the evolution of process intelligence.”

The initiative is part of the Celonis Academic Alliance, a program that embeds process intelligence into university curricula and offers certification pathways. India is already the largest learner base in the alliance. The effort is also supported by Celonis Garage, the company’s global innovation hub, which will work to accelerate the translation of research into deployable enterprise solutions.
