Automation Anywhere, OpenAI Partner on Agentic Automation for Enterprise Workflows

Automation Anywhere said it is working with OpenAI on a new set of AI-native agentic solutions aimed at pushing enterprises beyond task-based automation toward more autonomous, governed operations.

The company said the new offerings combine Automation Anywhere’s Process Reasoning Engine with OpenAI’s advanced reasoning models. The integration is designed to create a reasoning-to-action loop in which AI models interpret situations and determine intent, while the Process Reasoning Engine governs and executes actions across enterprise systems.

Automation Anywhere said the approach is intended to address limitations in traditional automation, which often relies on rigid, predefined steps that can break when conditions change. By contrast, the company is positioning the new agentic solutions as adaptable systems that can reason through variation while still operating within enterprise controls.

“Traditional solutions automate work by following rigid steps, much like humans would, which often makes them brittle when things change,” said Mihir Shukla, CEO and chairman of Automation Anywhere. “Our agentic solutions are fundamentally different; they’re designed for how AI agents work, enabling them to autonomously reason, solve problems, and adapt to changes.”

According to the company, the new solutions are designed to shorten deployment timelines, allowing customers to move into agentic operations in weeks rather than months. The portfolio targets business processes across finance, human resources, IT and customer service, and is built on a common architecture that blends AI reasoning, enterprise context, human-in-the-loop oversight and orchestrated execution.
