NEWS FOR THE AI-POWERED INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION ECOSYSTEM

Cognizant, Google Cloud Expand Agentic AI Partnership

IT services provider Cognizant and Google Cloud have expanded an existing partnership that helps businesses take agentic AI pilots into production. The scope of the project has grown to include a dedicated engineering group focused on deploying automation systems at scale.

The new Gemini Frontier Capability Group will combine Cognizant’s industry and engineering expertise with Google Cloud’s Gemini AI platform. Initially, the companies will focus on legacy system modernization, software development, business process automation and cybersecurity.

“Deploying AI agents at scale requires trusted partners with deep architectural and integration expertise,” said Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian. “Cognizant’s dedicated Frontier Capability Group and their skilling initiative for tens of thousands of engineers on Gemini will help our joint customers accelerate the adoption of autonomous agents throughout the enterprise.”

The companies are developing agentic AI applications for several industries, including retail customer support, healthcare and manufacturing order-to-cash workflows.

Cognizant also claims that integrating Gemini models into a retailer’s software development processes increased developer productivity by 40 percent, reduced time-to-market by 30 percent and generated cost savings of 35 percent.

The expanded partnership follows a training initiative in which more than 55,000 Cognizant employees participated in a Google Cloud Gemini workshop. Cognizant is also deploying Gemini internally, with plans to provide access to 100,000 employees this year and eventually expand that number to 200,000.
