Everest Group Names its Top Players in IDP

The Everest Group, a global technology consultant based in Dallas, has released its annual evaluation of intelligent document processing (IDP) technology providersfor 2025. The company, which produces a “PEAK Matrix” report for dozens of technology sectors including several related to intelligent automation, named ABBYY, HCL Tech, Hyperscience, Infrrd, Microsoft, Tungsten Automation, UiPath and WorkFusion as “Leaders” in the space.

As AI takes an increasingly important role in process automation, the ability for systems to extract and validate data from unstructured and semi-structured formats and have that information available has become vital. Generative AI and agentic AI advances are driving providers to enhance their integrated IDP capabilities, especially in the banking and financial services sector, the consultancy said.

The Everest Group assessment ranked 29 companies that provide IDP technology either as a standalone solution or as part of an automation platform. It evaluated those firms on two axes— “market impact” and “vision and capability”— and separated them according to their position on the matrix into “aspirants,” “major contenders” and “leaders.”

In addition to the leaders, the report included AntWorks, Appian, Automation Anywhere, AWS, Datamatics, EdgeVerve, EXL, Google, ImageSource, Indico Data, Instabase, Iron Mountain, KnowledgeLake, Kodak Alaris, Laiye, Nanonets, Nividous, Roots Automation, Rossum, Salesforce and Visionet.
