UiPath said it is working with Microsoft to embed security automation directly into business workflows, aiming to reduce response times and improve visibility for enterprise security teams.
The integration connects UiPath’s automation platform with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel and Security Copilot. The combined system automates threat detection, enrichment and response workflows, while adding business context to security signals generated from automated processes so business users can better understand security threats.
The approach reflects a broader push to operationalize security alongside automation, particularly as enterprises expand the use of AI-driven workflows. UiPath said files and signals generated during automated processes can be scanned and routed through Microsoft’s security stack, where analysts can investigate and trigger follow-on actions including quarantining files, pausing workflows or escalating incidents, with quicker response time and less disruption to business processes.
“This collaboration brings security automation closer to where work actually happens,” said Andrei Oros, Director of IT Automation at UiPath. “The combination of our automation capabilities with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Security Copilot gives enterprises the ability to embed security controls into operational processes.”
The offering will be available through the UiPath Solutions Marketplace and is designed to integrate with existing Microsoft security environments. The companies positioned the integration as a way to address governance and compliance concerns that can slow enterprise adoption of automation and AI-driven systems.
