ABBYY Expands Operations with R&D, CoE Offices in India

Intelligent automation technology provider ABBYY announced it has opened two facilities in India, indicating the importance of the market to the Bay Area software provider. The company has built a research and development center in Bengaluru and a Center of Excellence in New Delhi that will support users in India by bolstering its ability to deliver localized solutions. ABBYY appointed Yathiraj Shetty Kasargod as its director of Product Operations in India to oversee the new offices.

“We are excited to expand our global footprint by opening a new R&D center and Center of Excellence in India,” said Ulf Persson, ABBYY’s CEO. “India’s vibrant tech ecosystem and unrivaled talent offer tremendous opportunities for organizations to leverage our AI-powered intelligent automation offerings. I welcome Yathiraj to the ABBYY team as we mark this strategic milestone in our commitment to better serve our customers and partners.”

The Bengaluru facility adds to ABBYY’s global R&D footprint that includes offices in Australia, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Hungary, Japan, Serbia, Singapore and the U.S. The company noted that increasing its presence in India will be important, citing a Forrester study estimating the country’s market value will grow to nearly $55 billion by the end of 2027.
