AI Startup Focused on Healthcare Admin Nets $3.85 Million Seed Round

The march of startups offering AI agents focused on specialized business verticals or functions continued recently when VoiceCare AI announced its launch with nearly $4 million in seed funding.

The San Francisco-based company says its technology will automate back-office conversations in the healthcare industry, eliminating the need for humans to wait on hold to transfer or copy data, verify statuses and follow-ups, or start a process, reducing some of the estimated $1 trillion spent in the U.S. on administrative costs in the healthcare industry.

“Imagine a world where the time spent on manual phone calls and faxes is replaced by meaningful patient interactions. With generative AI, we want to make this a reality,” said Parag Jhaveri, founder and CEO of VoiceCare AI. “By automating conversations in a way that feels genuinely human, we seek to give back time to healthcare professionals so they can focus on high-order patient care, driving radical efficiencies with every conversation. That’s why we created “Joy,” our voice AI agent. We want to give healthcare professionals more time to focus on what truly matters—caring for patients.”

At the same time, VoiceCare AI announced a pilot with Mayo Clinic to use the technology for patient pre-authorization and benefit confirmations in its Neurology, Pediatrics, and Medical and Administrative Support Operations departments.

The funding round, worth $3.85 Million, was led by Caduceus Capital with participation from Bread and Butter Ventures.
