Benioff: Salesforce Aims to Empower a Billion AI Agents For Process Automation by End of 2025

Salesforce has launched a new platform designed to help clients leverage the growing trend toward agentic AI in automation. The CRM giant’s Agentforce enables Saleforce clients to access a network of prebuilt AI agents not only from Salesforce itself, but from partners like AWS, Google Cloud, IBM and Workday to act autonomously across multiple systems on behalf of users.

Businesses are increasingly turning toward AI agents to automate complex processes. But to effectively do that, the San Francisco-based company said, an AI agent needs to reason through a prompt, user intent, or system event, retrieve data, build a multi-step plan, and take action to execute the plan. The more actions an agent can perform, the more capable at certain tasks it will be.

“Agentforce represents the Third Wave of AI—advancing beyond copilots to a new era of highly accurate, low-hallucination intelligent agents that actively drive customer success. Unlike other platforms, Agentforce is a revolutionary and trusted solution that seamlessly integrates AI across every workflow, embedding itself deeply into the heart of the customer journey.” said Marc Benioff, Salesforce’s CEO and Chairman. “While others require you to DIY your AI, Agentforce offers a fully tailored, enterprise-ready platform designed for immediate impact and scalability. Our vision is bold: to empower one billion agents with Agentforce by the end of 2025.”

Separately, the company announced a partner network for the platform, with out-of-the-box and customizable AI agents available through Saleforce’s AppExchange from (in addition to those listed above) Appiphony, Asymbl, Box, Certinia, Copado, Coupa, Docusign, GoMeddo, Honeywell, Korn Ferry, Moody’s, OpenText, Sprout Social, TerraSky, Zoom, and more.
