As organizations continue implementing AI-driven automation solutions to optimize business processes, it becomes more important to leverage technology that provides visibility, understanding and opportunity within those processes. The best process intelligence platforms feature process mining, analysis, modelling, mapping, monitoring and other features to identify use cases for future automation projects and problems in current implementations.
For the fourth year in a row, Gartner has produced a “Magic Quadrant,” evaluating process mining providers. The Stamford, Conn.-based IT consultancy has named ARIS, Celonis, Pegasystems and SAP Signavio as “Leaders” in the category.
The consultancy said in the 2026 report that the improvements that can be realized through process intelligence platforms enable end users to “collaboratively redesign workflows (such as customer journeys, service delivery, or internal operations), leverage simulation capabilities to test future-state scenarios, and evaluate the impact of proposed changes.”
They also provide a centralized repository for storing process models, best practices, and improvement initiatives, enabling easy access, version control, and knowledge sharing across teams, the report said.
Overall, Gartner evaluated 13 process mining technology providers in the report including Appian, Apromore (Salesforce), IBM, iGrafx, Microsoft, mpmX, QPR Software, ServiceNow and UiPath.
