Public-sector tech leaders in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) are embracing AI and RPA to optimize business processes in the region. According to a recent survey conducted by research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), 33 percent of CIO in the META region are either already deploying or strongly considering AI and machine learning applications. In the same survey, 32 percent of technology leaders in those countries said they are prioritizing RPA and intelligent automation in the next 12-18 months.
“The mission of national governments around the world is to provide effective services to citizens, residents, tourists, and visitors while improving outcomes for both constituents and the countries themselves,” says Jyoti Lalchandani, group vice president and managing director for the META region at IDC. “With this goal in mind, government organizations across the region—and particularly those in the UAE—are increasingly embracing innovative digital technologies to help make intelligent policy decisions and ensure the delivery of seamless end-to-end services.”
Lalchandani said IDC strongly believes that countries whose governments have accelerated their digital investments and implemented strategies that speed up transformation on a national scale will show more resilience and be better prepared to face future shocks and long-term stresses.
