Companies that provide software automation technology for specific verticals or functions continue to proliferate and grow. Automating accounts payable processes is a popular application for automation technology and a Swedish company is signaling its growth with the opening of a U.S. headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.

Medius, which provides technology that automates invoice capture, processing and payment for businesses, acquired Jacksonville-based OnPay Solutions in 2022 and used it as a springboard for its U.S. operations. The company said the headquarters will employ more than 100 people and it expects to create new positions in sales and finance over the next three years.

“Jacksonville is a burgeoning hub for fintech organizations driven by the local talent and proximity to public and private educational institutions like Jacksonville University and Florida State College at Jacksonville,” Jim Lucier, CEO of Medius, said in a statement. “We’re excited to call this city home and bring more skilled locals into the business over coming months. The need to increase headcount follows a year of excellent North American growth as more organizations turn to Medius to improve operations in the Office of the CFO using technological innovation, particularly in AI.”
