An RPA technology provider has joined forces with an iconic Boston band and the Boss to bring some normalcy back to kick off the summer.

Cambridge, Mass.-based Pegasystems is the presenting sponsor of a concert event headlined by Boston favorites the Dropkick Murphys. On May 29, the band will play live from Fenway Park in front of no fans. Band members will take the field (there will be no stage) and play a set benefitting Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America and the Boston Resiliency Fund. The event will be streamed live for free and will include a virtual appearance for two songs by Bruce Springsteen

This is not Pegasystems’ first go-round with the Dropkick Murphys; not even its first virtual show. Plans to play at a large Pega event were scrapped as the Covid-19 crisis began to evolve. The RPA provider then became a sponsor of the band’s St. Patrick’s Day concert (an area tradition) that became one of the first big live events that was forced to stream as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic.

“I think we learned that we need to keep doing what we were wired to do, which is to do the right thing by our clients, by our partners, and by our employees, by everyone and by our communities,” Michael Brenner, vice president of brand and client experience for Pegasystems, told the Boston Business Journal at the time of the show. “I left yesterday, honestly, with just a big smile on my face.”
