Software giant SAP recently announced it has acquired WalkMe, a technology provider whose platform enables users to automate workflows across any number of applications, for $1.5 billion in cash. The addition of WalkMe’s technology will give SAP customers help with complex digital transition challenges.
“Applications, processes, data, and people are the four key elements of a successful business transformation,” said Christian Klein, CEO and member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. “By acquiring WalkMe, we are doubling down on the support we provide our end users, helping them to quickly adopt new solutions and features to get the maximum value out of their IT investments.”
WalkMe provides a digital adoption platform (DAP) that works on top of an organization’s “application landscape.” It detects friction in workflows across applications and provides automation technology they can leverage to reduce that friction.
The companies expect the deal to clear regulatory hurdles and close by the end of Q3 this year.
