UiPath Among Gartner’s ‘Leaders’ in AI-Augmented Software Testing

As more platforms use AI to enhance operations, the technology is being applied to a wider range of tasks. Software testing is one area where AI adoption continues to expand. And, UiPath, more well-known for its business process automation solutions, is making inroads in the software testing market via AI agents.

According to Gartner, AI-augmented software testing tools are “context-aware, data-driven and increasingly autonomous tools” that enable software engineering leaders to deliver higher-quality products faster. The Stamford, Conn.-based IT consultancy that develops sector and vendor assessments called “Magic Quadrants” has again turned its attention toward the burgeoning software category, naming Keysight, OpenText, Tricentis and UiPath as “Leaders.”

“Organizations use AI-augmented software testing tools to reduce the dependency on manual testing or hard-to-maintain test automation, minimize manual handoffs, and provide consistent visibility throughout the software testing life cycle,” the report’s authors wrote. “By simplifying the testing process and abstracting the complexities associated with interacting with the system under test, AI-augmented software testing tools enable product teams to deliver customer value faster.”

Gerd Weishaar, general manager and senior vice president of Product Management for Test Cloud at UiPath, said:

“We see agentic testing as a business accelerator and the next evolution in QA, where AI-powered agents work alongside humans to independently analyze, generate, execute, and refine tests across the entire lifecycle.”

In all, Gartner evaluated 10 providers for its 2025 Magic Quadrantfor AI-Aumented Software testing Tools report. In addition to the Leaders, the report includes assessments of ACCELQ, Applitools, BrowserStack, Katalon, LambdaTest and SmartBear.
