Just a week after announcing a partnership with Microsoft that will bolster the overall security built into automated workflows, UiPath has now set its sights on making agentic implementation simpler for broad swath of different industries. The New York City-based company said it is rolling out a set of purpose-built AI agents targeting specific enterprise workflows, as vendors shift from general-purpose automation to domain-specific systems designed for production use.
The company introduced new agentic solutions spanning retail, manufacturing, financial services and finance operations, with a focus on embedding AI directly into day-to-day execution rather than surfacing insights for manual action.
In retail and manufacturing, UiPath is positioning agents to manage merchandising, pricing and inventory workflows. The systems analyze sales data, demand signals and supply conditions to adjust assortments, pricing strategies and replenishment decisions in near real time. The goal is to reduce reliance on fragmented systems and manual planning processes that can delay response to market changes.
In financial services, the company is applying a similar model to compliance and lending operations. New agents automate tasks such as sanctions screening, alert review and adverse media monitoring, while also supporting loan origination workflows. The approach combines automation with orchestration layers that route decisions between AI systems and human reviewers, reflecting regulatory requirements for auditability and oversight.
UiPath is also extending the model into finance back-office processes with a purchase-to-pay offering. The system uses agents to handle invoice ingestion, matching and exception management across procurement and accounts payable workflows, aiming to reduce cycle times and manual intervention.
Across these releases, UiPath is emphasizing agents that are tailored to specific functions and industries, rather than horizontal tools. The systems are designed to integrate with existing ERP, CRM and data environments, with orchestration layers coordinating actions across systems.
“AI adoption is accelerating across the industry, yet many organizations struggle to move from experimentation into full production that delivers measurable business outcomes,” said Catherine Frame, Director of Retail Solutions at UiPath. “Our UiPath Solutions are purpose-built for the most common use cases for retailers, taking advantage of the combination of agents and agentic business orchestration to unlock AI-driven decision making that gets them ahead of inventory, pricing, and supply chain challenges.”
The announcements reflect a broader shift toward operational AI, where agents are expected to execute tasks within defined workflows while maintaining governance and human oversight.
