UiPath Partners with Google for AI Agent that Summarizes Medical Records

A range of companies, including intelligent automation software providers, continue to pump out AI agents designed for specific industries and jobs. The most recent example is New York City-based UiPath, which recently launched an agent for the healthcare industry that helps organizations quickly and comprehensively summarize health records and use that data for different tasks.

The company said it has partnered with Google integrating Google Gemini 2.0 Flash and Google Cloud Vertex AI to build a clinician-level agent that enables multi-point summarization of medical records at lower cost and with higher quality and accuracy than manual data entry. According to UiPath, the agent can produce a summary that used to take a medical professional 45 minutes manually in just a few minutes.

“Chief Medical Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and CIOs at healthcare organizations are consistently under pressure to reduce costs and improve quality of care while dealing with people resource constraints,” said Mark Geene, senior vice president of AI Products at UiPath. “Currently, clinical and non-clinical staff must summarize large volumes of medical records, yet medical records lack standard formats and summaries meaning they vary in quality and standardization. By automating and streamlining summary creation with Google Cloud, UiPath enables healthcare organizations to save clinical review time and improve accuracy, generating significant annual value in time savings and cost avoidance.”
