As technologies that can be applied to process automation continue to proliferate, platforms that can integrate the growing number of tools and capabilities involved are becoming increasingly important for businesses. Those platforms must incorporate rules-based automation, AI-based automation, process intelligence, and process orchestration on a single platform that meets businesses’ digital transformation requirements.
The Everest Group has released an evaluation of 13 providers in this new and comprehensive business automation category and UiPath is leading the way. The Dalla-based consultancy, which produces “PEAK Matrix” reports for dozens of technology sectors including several related to intelligent automation components, named three other companies in its “Leaders” category: Appian, Microsoft and Pega.
The assessment ranked the companies that are aiming to become one-stop shops for all automation-related enterprise requirements. It evaluated those firms on two axes—“market impact” and “vision and capability”—and separated them according to their position on the matrix into “aspirants,” “major contenders” and “leaders.”
In addition to the “leaders,” technology providers evaluated by Everest Group for the report include: Automation Anywhere, Cyclone Robotics, EdgeVerve, IBM, Nividous, SAP, ServiceNow, SS&C Blue Prism and Tungsten Automation.
While Everest Group sells a version of the report on its website that includes a full market and trend analysis, the graph showing the relative positions of the companies included in the evaluation is publicly available.
