Migrating multiple siloed RPA systems to one centralized product offering as many features as possible has been a priority for some organizations as the technology matures, and will continue in 2022. For companies looking at consolidating their RPA technology or migrating to another provider’s offering, Microsoft Power Automate has published a guide with strategies to make what is often a challenging and costly process easier.

The Business Leaders’ Guide to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Migration offers corporate technology leaders insights into why, when and how their organizations should consider migrating from one or more RPA systems to another.

“Most legacy RPA solutions are siloed and difficult to scale,” said Akansha Gawade, program manager for Microsoft Power Automate, in a post on Microsoft’s corporate blog. “Selecting the new appropriate technology, identifying the processes to automate, and implementing with an optimal architecture can pose new challenges. The whitepaper addresses these and provides various approaches to successfully migrate from existing RPA platforms to new modern ones.”

In addition to providing a toolkit to help guide migration efforts, the resource acknowledges the headwinds tech leaders will encounter when considering this kind of change, including return on capital expenditure investments, establishing program management and governance, accounting for costs of parallel run and operational differences and training for a new system.
