Cambridge, Mass.-based consultancy Forrester has released its most recent Wave report ($) identifying and evaluating what it has identified as the top 15 providers of Digital Process Automation (DPA) technology. For Q4 2023, Forrester named Appian, IBM, Microsoft and ServiceNow as “Leaders” in the DPA space.
Unlike RPA, which the company also evaluates, it says the DPA market has “moved toward the deep end of the pool,” focusing on end-to-end processes and workflow and shifting the responsibility toward professional developers and more complex automations that may return more value.
“The prior Forrester Wave emphasized progress in low-code to support citizen development,” the report’s authors wrote. “Vendors have responded with more complete governance offerings, stronger endpoint orchestration, process intelligence, and infusion of AI components.”
In addition to the four Leaders, Forrester also evaluated Axon Ivy, Bizagi, Bonitasoft, Camunda, Hyland, Kofax, Newgen, Nintex, Pegasystems, OpenText and Salesforce.
