Intelligent Automation Platforms for Network Operations in Higher Demand, Says Analyst

Businesses increasingly are automating the processes around their network infrastructure and operations, according to a Gartner analyst. In fact, while less than 10 percent of enterprises had automated half of their network activities in mid-2023, the Stamford Conn.-based consultancy says that number will be up to 30 percent by 2026.

“Infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders are increasingly looking to AI-based analytics and augmented decision making, including intelligent automation (IA), to improve operational resilience and responsiveness, address complexity and process increasingly large amounts of data through automation,” said Chris Saunderson, senior director analyst at Gartner.

Since the introduction of generative AI, intelligent automation technology providers have raced to integrate it into their platforms, increasing demand in the market for IA platforms, Saunderson says.

“Technology providers that offer best-of-breed tools for AI for IT operations (AIOps), application performance monitoring and GenAI will influence IA,” he notes. “AIOps and stand-alone automation technology providers may expand their offerings to IA, through acquisitions or organic development.”
