Cloud computing has become a significant part of the software ecosystem across just about every industry, RPA included. Each year, Forbes, along with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures, ranks the top 100 private cloud companies and several RPA technology providers and related companies made this year’s list.
Nearly topping the entire category, UiPath placed third for 2020. Automation Anywhere was also highly ranked, coming in at number 20. German process mining pioneer Celonis made the list at number 39.
A panel of 125 judges weighs several factors to assemble the list including estimated valuation, operating metrics, people and culture, and market leadership. All three of the RPA-related companies that made the list had significant funding rounds in the last 10 months contributing to high valuations. Celonis and Automation Anywhere each netted $290 million last November and UiPath announced a $225 million round in July of this year.
