SoundHound AcquiresLivePerson

SoundHound AI said it has completed its acquisition of LivePerson, combining SoundHound’s voice and agentic AI technology with LivePerson’s enterprise digital messaging capabilities.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company plans to integrate LivePerson’s platform into its OASYS agent orchestration system. The combined platform will support customer interactions across voice, web, mobile, SMS and social channels.

“This merger represents a defining moment for the new agentic AI era,” said Keyvan Mohajer, CEO and co-founder of SoundHound AI. “Together, we are delivering the most complete AI platform to the most comprehensive enterprise customer base in the industry.”

SoundHound says the combined company serves 25 of the Fortune 100 and holds more than 750 patents. The company also retired LivePerson’s outstanding debt as part of the transaction and says it is targeting more than $500 million in potential future revenue from the combined existing customer base.

The acquisition gives enterprise customers access to voice interactions, digital chat and social messaging through a single conversational AI platform. SoundHound says product integration is underway, with combined offerings expected to roll out in the coming quarters.

SoundHound also named former LivePerson executive John Collins chief financial officer of the combined company. Collins previously served as LivePerson’s CFO, COO and interim CEO.
