ABBYY, a global software company specializing in document capture and optical character recognition, last week announced it has acquired TimelinePI. ABBYY enables digital transformation through RPA and other types of intelligent automation. The company said the acquisition of TimelinePI will enable its clients to better understand their business processes and identify which are optimal candidates for automation through the Philadelphia-based company’s process mining platform.
“Process mining is predominantly used in business process automation and robotic process automation–sweet spots for ABBYY,” said Cathy Tornbohm, an analyst at Gartner, in the press release announcing the acquisition. “TimelinePI offers support for the full spectrum of process types, especially the ad hoc process patterns common to case management. Additionally, TimelinePI offers specific analysis modules optimized for unique process styles not possible with schema-centric approaches.”
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
