Chinese RPA and intelligent automation technology provider Laiye said it has acquired Paris-based chatbot platform Mindsay. Laiye will leverage the French firm’s conversational automation technology to bolster its platform’s capabilities and plans to open a research and development facility in Paris.

The announcement is part of an aggressive push into Europe that Laiye recently embarked on. The company unveiled a $50 million investment in the EMEA region that included a partnership with IAC, an automation services provider also based in Paris that will resell its technology in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal and the Middle East.

“Laiye and Mindsay were founded with the same vision to help companies transform digitally and become more effective, efficient, and successful,” said Guanchun Wang, chairman and CEO of Laiye. “This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our journey to create the most comprehensive intelligent automation solution, making it affordable and accessible to help businesses do better and be better.”

After the deal closes, Mindsay Co-Founder and CEO Guillaume Laporte will become the general manager of Laiye’s international chatbot business. Co-founders llias Hicham and Pierre Pakey will be named head of Product for Laiye’s international chatbot business and head of Product Innovation for the Intelligent Document Process product line, respectively.
