NEWS FOR THE AI-POWERED INTELLIGENT AUTOMATION ECOSYSTEM

Microsoft and Publicis Expand Partnership to Automate Marketing Operations

Microsoft and Publicis Groupe, the French marketing, PR and advertising giant, are expanding their long-standing partnership to develop a full-stack marketing platform built around AI agents, as companies look to connect marketing activity more directly to business outcomes.

The collaboration combines Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft’s cloud and AI infrastructure with Publicis assets including its Sapient consulting arm and Epsilon data platform. The goal is to unify fragmented marketing systems and enable AI-driven automated workflows across campaign development, execution, and optimization.

A key component is the integration of AI agents into marketing operations. The companies said these agents will be able to identify customer segments, generate content, deploy campaigns, and adjust spending in real time using identity-based data models.

The partnership also includes broader infrastructure changes. Publicis will standardize on Microsoft Azure as a preferred cloud platform and deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot across its workforce. In addition, Publicis has been named Microsoft’s global media agency of record.

The announcement reflects a shift in enterprise marketing toward more automated, data-driven execution, as organizations seek to reduce reliance on disconnected tools and manual processes.

“By bringing Microsoft’s cloud and AI capabilities together with Publicis Groupe Solutions built on Azure, we are giving creatives and makers the freedom to spend less time on repetitive execution and more time shaping ideas, building brands and driving meaningful growth for our customers,” said Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft’s commercial business.
