RPA and intelligent document processing services provider qBotica has joined an academic initiative at George Mason University to examine how RPA has made government more effective. George Mason’s Center for Business Civic Engagement (CBCE) launched The RPA Initiative in January to promote public understanding and education about the technology, engage in research of applications and results, and provide an academic stage for discussion of public policy issues relating to RPA.

According to its website, the CBCE’s mission “is to study the impact of the application of business theory and principles to government to determine if government can be both more effective and efficient for its stakeholders.” As one of the largest organizations in the world, applications that can increase efficiency, even a little, can have outsized effects on the U.S. federal government.

Arizona-based qBotica said joining one of the rare automation-focused academic programs at the university level will position the company to help train the next generation of automation experts and uncover more opportunities for the public sector to benefit from RPA and intelligent automation.

“Today’s workplace is often filled with mentally laborious activities, affecting human creativity and productivity,” said Mahesh Vinayagam, CEO of qBotica. “The RPA initiative brings together industry experts and academia to harness this transformative technology to increase the quality of work and as a result, enhance human potential. Our team at qBotica is thrilled to be a part of George Mason University’s RPA Initiative and we’re honored to be working alongside brilliant scholars at one of the country’s top public research universities.”
