The U.S. Air Force is hitting the road with RPA. According to a post on the Air Force District of Washington’s website, the Department of the Air Force Bot Operations Team (DAFBOT) is in the middle of a tour of Air Force facilities that has covered 26 locations and will expand to include a dozen more joint presentations with the Army throughout 2024.
DAFBOT is a program office within PEO Business Enterprise Systems, and is made up of military, civilian and contractors whose core focus is the enablement of all Air Force personnel on a range of intelligent automation tools.
The shows grew out of a prior initiative that brought virtual RPA and intelligent automation training to more than 3,000 Airmen. Feedback from those virtual events included a desire for in-person, localized training that could teach them to implement automation effectively in their specific roles.
“The future of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) relies on harnessing the power of AI to tackle everyday tasks that bog down our Airmen and Guardians. This exciting technology not only benefits the Department of the Air Force, but it is generating interest across the Department of Defense,” said Eileen Vidrine, chief data and artificial intelligence officer for the Air Force. “Our workforce is excited to explore the potential of robotics process automation and the impactful improvements it can bring to those who serve our country.”
The most recent event was held in May at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. It was led by the DAF Bot Operations Team in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The training involved the team’s prime contractor, Invoke Public Sector, and used UiPath technology.
