ABBYY used its Ascend Fall 2025 conference to unveil a series of enhancements to its Process AI and Document AI platforms, emphasizing governance, scalability, and production readiness for generative AI in enterprise automation.
The updates address a persistent challenge in automation initiatives: according to ABBYY, 57 percent of organizations report their data is not AI-ready, contributing to disappointing project outcomes. The company said its latest tools are designed to bridge that gap by improving process visibility, workflow precision, and compliance.
Among the announcements were new features in ABBYY Process AI, which now allows organizations to monitor and connect data across people, bots, and systems. Case studies presented during the event highlighted applications in healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing—each demonstrating how process insights led to measurable efficiency gains.
Enhancements to ABBYY Document AI include expanded support for large language model (LLM) integration, enabling users to summarize, reason, and validate data across document workflows. ABBYY said these updates make GenAI “production ready” while maintaining control through built-in validation and governance layers.
The company also released updates to its FineReader Engine, adding improved layout analysis, expanded language support—including for handwritten and Chinese characters—and modern data export formats like JSON for easier system integration.
“ABBYY’s commitment to delivering trusted, purpose-built AI for enterprise-grade automation is stronger than ever,” said Michelle Yurovsky, ABBYY’s vice president of product management and strategy. “This is AI that’s not just innovative, but reliable, governed, and scalable so you can trust it at enterprise scale.”
ABBYY also previewed its 2026 roadmap, which includes zero-shot learning, prompt-based extraction, and interactive AI-guided refinement to simplify configuration and accelerate deployment across industries.
