Ant International said it has raised approximately $1.2 billion in Series A financing to support its ambition of leading global development of payment, financial services and agentic commerce technology.
The Singapore-based international payments unit of Jack Ma’s Ant Group is expanding its international payments network and building AI agents that autonomously initiate, negotiate, and settle financial transactions on behalf of SMEs and enterprises
Existing investors Ant Group and Alibaba Group participated in the mammoth raise along with other international investment institutions. Ant International began operating independently in 2024 and has operations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. The company says its network connects more than 150 million merchants with more than 2 billion user accounts.
The company operates four primary businesses: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst and Bettr. Its technology includes AI-powered tools for merchant payments, treasury operations and credit services.
The financing comes as payments companies increasingly explore AI agents that can execute transactions and automate other steps in commerce workflows. Ant International said the new capital will support development of agentic commerce solutions alongside its broader cross-border payments business.
