The Everest Group, a global technology consultant based in Dallas, has released its annual evaluation of intelligent process automation (IPA) “solution providers.” The company, which produces a “PEAK Matrix” report for dozens of technology sectors, named Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, IBM, TCS and Wipro as its leaders in the space.

The assessment ranked 28 companies that source, consult on, implement and provide maintenance for intelligent automation technology for clients. It evaluated those firms on two axes—”market impact” and “vision and capability”—and separated them according to their position on the matrix into “aspirants,” “major contenders” and “leaders.”

In addition to the “leaders,” service providers evaluated by Everest Group for the report include: Accelirate, Atos, Datamatics, Digital Workforce, EXL, Firstsource, Genpact, HCL Technologies, Infosys, IOPEX, Mphasis, NTT DATA, Persistent Systems, PwC, Roboyo, Softek, Sopra Steria, SS&C Technologies, Tech Mahindra, UST, Visionet, and Virtusa. While Everest Group sells a version of the report on its website that includes a full market and trend analysis, the graph showing the relative positions of the companies included in the evaluation is publicly available.

Everest Group said it defines IPA as “intelligent automation in business processes achieved through any combination of automation technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and cognitive/AI-based automation.”
