PointClickCare has expanded its Advisor portfolio of AI-enabled workflow automation tools aimed at the healthcare space with the release of Billing Advisor, a product intended to help skilled nursing providers identify billable services and revenue risks before claims are submitted.
Billing Advisor joins Chart Advisor and Referral Advisor as part of the Toronto-area company’s Advisor suite. The products are integrated with the company’s electronic health record platform and are intended to automate administrative tasks while providing AI-generated recommendations within existing clinical workflows.
PointClickCare said the launch follows research indicating that while 79 percent of skilled nursing decision-makers are optimistic about AI, only 10 percent currently use AI in their operations.
“For years, technology promised to make healthcare easier but often just added complexity. With Advisor, we are changing that,” said Dave Wessinger, co-founder and CEO of PointClickCare.
According to the company, Billing Advisor scans clinical documentation to identify missed charges, maps billing codes and prepares billing batches for review. The broader Advisor portfolio also includes tools for referral management, clinical documentation and assessment workflows, reflecting continued investment in AI-assisted automation for long-term and post-acute care providers.
