End users continue to build RPA and intelligent automation capability into their systems and, increasingly, that capability is integrated into other technology products. This week, in an announcement about the launch of a new ERP system, Samsung Electronics specifically referred to RPA as an important facet of the overhaul.
The Korean electronics giant announced it had successfully migrated all 120 global offices to its new N-ERP system, developed by SAP specifically for Samsung. SAP has offered RPA as part of its cloud-based ERP product for nearly three years, and it recently bolstered that functionality by adding process mining capability it inherited with the acquisition of German software provider Signavio in Feb. 2021.
“The N-ERP supports not only business innovation but also helps employees focus on their key responsibilities and tasks,” Samsung said. “For example, manual work can be minimized with the help of new automated technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and machine learning software infrastructures.”
