While many intelligent automation technology providers seem to be moving on to agentic AI as the dominant technology in business process automation, a recent announcement from government contractor Brillient indicates that RPA still fills an important role in automation.
The Reston, Va.-based consulting and services company, which focuses on digital transformation solutions for the federal government, said it has implemented an RPA bot at the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) National Benefits Center (NBC). According to Brillient, the bot will assist USCIS staff in workflows surrounding the N-400 Outgoing Files/Back End Updating process. N-400 is the Application for Naturalization, which was changed in March of this year.
“Implementation of the TERRI BOT was completed on June 30, 2025, and the results have been astounding,” the company said. “Over 215,000 files have been processed with zero errors; staffing levels were reduced by more than 40 percent; quality increased to 100 percent on transfers out; and the comment field is updated automatically, allowing all users to see and track performance.”
As hype around AI agents continues to grow in the automation space, the news from Brillient is a reminder that older technology can still be a reliable option for many users.
