At its recent FORWARD + Tech Ed developer event in Las Vegas, UiPath made it very clear to its user base that agentic AI is the future of its platform. At another major tech event—Microsoft’s Ignite conference in Chicago this week—UiPath announced it has made an advanced AI agent available for its customers who use Microsoft 365 and Teams.
The UiPath Autopilot agent for Teams leverages the intelligent automation technology provider’s proprietary large language model-based digital assistant Autopilot and its web app Orchestrator. The company says the AI agent will enable users to interact directly with UiPath’s platform through Teams chats to do things like suggest automations that might be needed to complete tasks, understand and fill out parameters from prompts, recommend next steps, and automate complex workflows.
“UiPath is one of the first ecosystem partners with Microsoft 365 Copilot agents,” said Dhruv Asher, senior vice president of Technology Alliances at UiPath. “With our new agentic features and our integration with Microsoft, users have tremendous possibilities to discover and run secure, governed, and customizable automations within their existing workflows. These features extend the power of automation within Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Teams, and help organizations introduce a new era of transformed digital workflows.”
