Schneider Electric recently announced a multi-year initiative to build an AI-native ecosystem its customers will leverage to automate their energy management and sustainability projects. Based near Paris with a 190-year history, Schneider provides automation technology and consulting for smart industries, critical energy infrastructure, data centers, intelligent buildings, and smart homes.
The new initiative will tap AI agents to work collaboratively with clients and consultants to simplify and optimize sustainability and energy management projects.
“Our vision is collaborative intelligence—agentic AI that works alongside human experts as a true digital teammate,” said Steve Wilhite, president of sustainability business division at Schneider Electric. “This technology allows us to create a force multiplier effect where complex data analysis and tasks are automated, freeing our clients to focus on the strategic initiatives and innovations that lead to greater impact—a fundamental shift in how organizations can accelerate on their energy and decarbonization journeys.”
Schneider said Julien Picaud will serve as head of product management for the initiative. He will spearhead work the company said will reimagine core functionality from the company’s existing software platforms while debuting new features from the recent acquisition of leading sustainability firm EcoAct.
The technology will enable more automation in areas like decarbonization strategy, emissions management, reporting and compliance, climate risk, energy management, resource efficiency and more.
