Salesforce Rolls Out Agentforce for Agentic Automation

Salesforce, which in September announced a new platform designed to help clients leverage the growing trend toward agentic AI in automation, has rolled what it calls Agentforce out to the public. The technology is a new layer on the Salesforce platform enabling clients of the CRM giant to build and deploy AI agents that can act autonomously across multiple systems on behalf of users.  It also provides access to a variety of prebuilt AI agents not only from Salesforce itself, but from partners like AWS, Google Cloud, IBM and Workday.

“Agentforce is redefining what’s possible in business and beyond, ushering in a new era of AI abundance and limitless workforces that augment every employee, build deeper customer relationships and drive unprecedented growth and profitability,” said Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce. “Built on Salesforce’s trusted, fully customizable platform — seamlessly integrating enterprise data, metadata, AI models, workflows, security and applications — Agentforce is what AI was meant to be.”

The first out-of-the-box prebuilt agent is Agentforce Service Agent, which the company says outperforms traditional chatbots by autonomously handling a wide range of tasks and that can be customized for industry verticals or for use case. Salesforce said it plans to make pre-built agents available for communications, education, banking, insurance, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, media, retail and the public sector.

At the September announcement, Benioff told attendees of the company’s annual customer event Dreamforce that Salesforce would make it possible for users to build or use a billion AI agents by the end of 2025.
