Often, the conversation around AI in the workplace generates fear from employees that they will be automated out of their jobs. A new report from AI software provider Klippa, however, finds that as organizations begin introducing AI tools, employees’ perception of the technology is trending in a positive direction, especially over the past year.
According to The State of Professional Perceptions on AI, more than 85 percent of employees polled in Europe, North American and the U.K. have generally positive views about AI use in the workplace. Nearly 88 percent of respondents indicate that the technology makes them more efficient and productive in their roles.
“In our research as well as what we observe from our customers and partners, many knowledge workers see the time-saving benefits of AI,” said Peter Caputa, CEO of Databox, which partnered with Klippa on the research. “Whether it’s using AI as a writing assistant, automating the collection of information or automatically writing the first draft of a company’s performance report, AI is a time saver.”
Job loss is a concern reported especially by workers in the U.K., where a third indicated anxiety about being replaced by AI. Other concerns identified by the research include receiving adequate training, privacy and potential bias in AI systems.
